how long have you been working at wastenot?

“A little over a year!”

what brought you to wastenot initially?

“While I was in school studying sustainability, I worked in the food service industry for a long time. I was surprised by how much food went to waste, but more so I was excited about how easy it would be to create change. As a barista and sustainability consultant I started composting initiatives at several cafes in Seattle and Chicago, which eventually led me to WasteNot."

what is your favorite part about working for wastenot?

"While we are an established brand in Chicagoland, I love that it’s kind of like a startup in that there are always new projects and innovative ideas being turned into reality. I enjoy working in sustainability because everybody has a role to play; it's just a matter of us being creative & thoughtful enough to meet people where they're already at in order to make a difference. I love working for WasteNot because everyday I get to tap into that creativity to work on solutions that make diverting waste easy and affordable for people without disrupting their lives or businesses."

besides composting, what is one thing you do in your daily life to limit your carbon footprint?

"I take public transportation everywhere and do not own a car." 🚗

when you’re not at work, how do you spend your free time?

"Watching a St. Louis Cardinals game (sorry not sorry Cubs fans)."
