STARTED WITH A Kid on A bike. NOW ROSS IS WAVING FROM ONE OF OUR ELECTRIC VANS.

OUR STORY.

WASTENOT COMPOST IS The NATION’S ONLY ZERO-EMISSIONS COMPOST COLLECTION SERVICE FOR HOMES, BUSINESSES, AND EVENTS.

WasteNot began in 2015 out of a kid’s desire to do better. While lugging his sixth bag of trash to a cafe’s dumpster, he knew there was a simple solution: composting. Out of necessity, WasteNot started as a zero-emissions company, utilizing a bike & trailer to service members across the city. As membership soared, the kid and his best friend joined forces to maintain their commitment to sustainability. They aimed to deliver a sustainable service — sustainably. WasteNot went from operating on a bike to a 100% electric fleet, allowing all WasteNot members to Compost Without Compromise™.

Grown from humble beginnings, WasteNot has become Chicago’s leading compost collection provider, the largest electric fleet owner in Illinois, and has been ranked the #1 compost collection service in the USA three years running.

Meet the FOUNDERS

The dynamic duo that started it all.

  • CEO & Founder

While working at a cafe on the north side of Chicago, Liam began WasteNot at the age of 15. Realizing there was a better use for compostables — and without a license — Liam biked around Chicago servicing members with a trailer. Devoted to operating a sustainable company sustainably, he worked to transform WasteNot’s humble beginnings into the largest all-electric fleet in Illinois. An alum of Loyola University Chicago’s School of Environmental Sustainability (SES), Liam loves all things sustainable and has over ten years’ experience in the waste industry.

  • COO & Founder

Learning about composting through Liam, Lauren joined WasteNot at age 17 in order to implement composting in her building downtown. An alumna of Indiana University Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business, Lauren enjoys overseeing all daily operations and spearheads growth at WasteNot.

OUR TEAM.

We’re a group that’s tired of waiting for things to change, a group that loves digging in, getting dirty, and putting our efforts towards effecting positive change. WasteNot Compost is growing and our team has been as well — we’ve come a long way from “a kid on a bike.”

As such, we’re always looking for talented and passionate individuals to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that cares about what they do, each other, and, especially, the community. If that sounds like you and you think composting is cool, we'd love to have you.

READY TO ROCK.

READY TO ROLL.
