Liam Donnelly Named to Waste360’s 2024 40 Under 40 Awards List

Recognized as a Next-Generation Leader in the Waste, Recycling and Organics Industry

WasteNot Compost today announces Liam Donnelly, founder and CEO, has been named to Waste360’s 2024 40 Under 40 awards list, which showcases the next generation of leaders who are shaping the future of the waste and recycling industry.

“It’s an honor to be a part of Waste360's 40 Under 40 list this year along with several waste industry leaders,” said Donnelly. "I’m particularly proud to be representing the rapidly growing world of organics collection and leading the charge in waste management fleet electrification.”

WasteNot Compost began as a kid’s desire to do better. While working at a cafe in 2015, Liam Donnelly noticed the amount of compostable material that was being sent to the landfill everyday and found the inspiration to start WasteNot: to create a business that would make composting convenient and accessible for both individuals and businesses. What started as a zero-emissions service operating on a bike has been transformed into the nation's only zero-emissions compost collection service, with the largest all-electric fleet in Illinois. WasteNot has grown from its humble beginnings while remaining dedicated to its core values: reducing waste and greenhouse gas emissions while using a community approach to sustainable living.

“Congratulations to the 2024 class of Waste360 40 Under 40 award winners. Our industry is filled with innovators. We were impressed by all the nominations and we are excited to celebrate all of their achievements at WasteExpo,” said Marc Acampora, Market Leader, Waste360.

The Waste360 40 Under 40 awards program recognizes innovative professionals under the age of 40 whose work in the waste, recycling and organics industry has made a significant contribution to the industry. The winners are involved in every part of the waste and recycling industry, including haulers, municipalities, composters, recycling professionals, policymakers and product suppliers.

A panel of expert judges from Waste360 evaluated the nominations and consulted with an external advisor to select the finalists and winners. The winners will be honored during an awards ceremony on May 7 at WasteExpo, North America's largest solid waste, recycling, organics, food waste recovery, and sustainability event, taking place in Las Vegas.
